In 2018, 40 percent of women respondents who earned more than 100 thousand Indian rupees per month preferred to use auto rickshaws across the urban cities in India. Autos are probably preferred as they are fast, cheap, compact and a specific destination can be requested. Surprisingly, only 11 percent of the women who earned less than 15 thousand rupees per month preferred autos in the country.

Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhuvaneshwar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Indore, Jammu, Mumbai, Kochi, Mysuru and New Delhi were the cities under consideration.
